“Needs to Keep His Mouth Shut” – Argentina’s Penalty Hero Emiliano Martinez Launches a Scathing Attack on Netherlands Manager

Argentina has made its next move toward the trophy. The team has guaranteed their semifinal spot by beating the Netherlands in a penalty shootout. The match was very close and tied during injury time, from two fantastic goals by Wout Weghorst.

With 18 yellow cards and a red card, everybody knew that the post-match presentation will be fiery. Emiliano Martinez emerged as a hero for Argentina and saved two shots from Virgil van Dijk and Steven Berghuis, and with just one miss by Argentina, they won the shootout 4-3.

Players also pointed out the mistakes done by the referee, Antonio Mateu Lahoz.

Martinez said, “It was a tricky game. I thought we controlled the game really well. We went 2-0 up, basically, we controlled the game. The ref was just giving everything to them.”

Messi also talked about the decisions made by the referee, saying that the equalizer goal came from what was not a foul according to him.

After winning the match, Martinez was talking to the press during the post-match conference. While describing his aggressive expressions and mind-blowing performance, Martínez gave the credit to the coach of the Netherlands.

He said, ” I heard Van Gaal saying, ‘We’ve got an advantage in penalties. If we go to penalties, we win. I think he needs to keep his mouth shut.”

Matches are getting closer and more entertaining. It is sad to think about Neymar; he gave everything to the sport and played even with an injury. Croatia will face Argentina in the semifinals. The other two matches of the quarter-finals today are Portugal vs Morocco and England vs France.
