But Mourinho’s interest in exploring options never ceases to amaze people. The 60-year-old had recently opened up about a potential move to Brazil, giving the fanbase a sneak peek into his future plans. This has happened right after the Carlo Ancelotti rumors have seemed to die down.

The Portuguese boss has the appetite to take on tough challenges. After moving from a couple of clubs, Mourinho embraced tough tasks, starting by taking Porto to their second UEFA Champions League win in 2003. The coach has never looked back and helped many clubs to glory. But does it push him for a national team challenge?

The current situation of the Brazilian soccer team is keeping fans anxious. The team is without a full-time coach, and rumors suggest that Jose Mourinho could potentially be the chosen one. However, the Portuguese veteran denied any kind of approach by the Seleção, saying, “No one has called me or my agent from Brazil to become the new head coach of the Seleçao,” as reported by Fabrizio Romano. However, that doesn’t mean an end to the possible move. Looking at the statement, it’s fully open that Mourinho could think about the role if contacted by the CBF.

The former Real Madrid coach claimed a few years ago that he was better suited for a national team than club soccer. 5 years down the line, it looks like the situation is good enough for the manager after Brazil’s likely unsuccessful negotiation with Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Earlier, almost everyone in the soccer world was convinced that Don Carlo would sign a contract with the hungry Brazilian team. But the 2022 UEFA Champions League-winning coach chose Santiago Bernabéu as his throne, signing a contract until 2026. The decision came as a shock to the lately-suffering Canarinhos, who are again on the hunt.

Could Mourinho rewrite the script of a suffering Brazilian team?

The Special One is rarely out of demand in the soccer market. He is already gaining interest from Saudi clubs and can also see a possible contract extension at Roma itself. Nonetheless, looking at Mourinho’s comments, landing as the boss of the 5-time World Cup winners is not impossible.

Brazil, on the other hand, could benefit from Mourinho who is undoubtedly a serial winner. The nation has not won a FIFA World Cup since 2002. But their bigger concern is the current situation, where they are 6th in the World Cup qualifiers and are under a lot of scrutiny. Hence, expecting a win-win for both parties, anything at this moment can be possible.
