The transfer window is set to start in a few days as January closes in. All eyes again will be on the Saudi League clubs who are expected to spend huge money on the summer transfer window. But, unfortunately for Al Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo, they have suffered a setback. Raphael Varane has reportedly rejected the offer to reunite with him in Saudi Arabia as he recovers from the flu.
Raphael Varane has got game time for Manchester United before he missed the game against West Ham. However, his situation remains open ahead of the January transfer window.

There were rumors in the media that Manchester United were open to selling Raphael Varane in the January transfer window. This led to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr getting linked to a move. However, the latest reports have revealed that the move will not happen. Raphael Varane is not interested in transferring to any Saudi club this January. This would have been a great signing as Al Nassr would have gotten another Champions League winner as they are locked in a title fight with rivals Al Hilal.

Al Nassr are already working on selling some of their foreign players to make space for new signings. This is the second heartbreak the Al Nassr fans have got in recent weeks related to the January window. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed on Twitter that the Saudi giants are not in contact with Casemiro over a possible move next month.

La Liga giants could explore a move for the Manchester United defender
In the last few weeks, the media has linked Raphael Varane to a move back to Real Madrid. The French defender has spent 10 years and won plenty of trophies with the La Liga giants. He won a total of 18 trophies for the Spanish club including three La Liga trophies and four Champions League trophies. Real Madrid are currently under an injury crisis in the center-back position.

Both their defenders David Alaba and Eder Militao suffered season-ending injuries. This has led to Carlo Ancelotti partnering midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni and Antonio Rudiger. However, the manager has asked for the ownership of an experienced defender. Raphael Varane could certainly fit the bill. But, the problem his current club Red Devils also has Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and Lisandro Martinez with injuries.
