There are certain times when some gestures from the opposition transcend the rivalry. Bayern Munich supporting their former player David Alaba is one of them. In Real Madrid’s win against Villareal, the Austrian defender suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL ) injury. As soon as the news was made available in the media, the German giants immediately offered their support. Former president of Munich Uli Hoeneß has claimed that his injury will be operated on by a doctor on whom the Bundesliga giants have big trust.
🗣️ Uli Hoeneß says FC Bayern will help David Alaba with his ACL surgery:
“I tried to reach him today, but I wasn't able to. We at Bayern have ensured that he’ll be operated by a doctor in whom we have big trust.” @iMiaSanMia pic.twitter.com/ZJia34wlJI

The Real Madrid star defender will remain out for the rest of the season. He will also likely miss the 2024 Euros tournament in Germany. The La Liga giants will no doubt miss his services because they had already seen Éder Militão suffering a similar injury earlier in the season. This means they have two of their star defenders on the treatment table.

Carlo Ancelotti keeping an eye on the January transfer window
According to multiple reports, Real Madrid could make a move for a defender signing in January. However, Carlo Ancelotti will only make a move for a star defender should a such player become available in the market. The Italian manager also has other plans in mind should he fail to sign a defender.
He could play Dani Carvajal or Aurélien Tchouaméni as center-backs till his defenders recover from their injuries. They could try these combinations in the upcoming matches to decide before the January window starts.
