Real Madrid returned to winning ways in La Liga as they demolished Villareal 4-1. However, the win unfortunately came with a heavy price for the Los Blancos. Their star defender David Alaba suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury which will keep him out for a significant time. In these tough times for the Austrian international, his former club Bayern Munich has stepped in to help him recover.

It’s not so common for a colossal club like Bayern to help out their ex-player who is also playing for another massive and rival team. It points out how despite leaving them in 2021, Bundesliga giants might want their former star player back on the pitch as soon as possible.

There are certain times when some gestures from the opposition transcend the rivalry. Bayern Munich supporting their former player David Alaba is one of them. In Real Madrid’s win against Villareal, the Austrian defender suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL ) injury. As soon as the news was made available in the media, the German giants immediately offered their support. Former president of Munich Uli Hoeneß has claimed that his injury will be operated on by a doctor on whom the Bundesliga giants have big trust.

The Real Madrid star defender will remain out for the rest of the season. He will also likely miss the 2024 Euros tournament in Germany. The La Liga giants will no doubt miss his services because they had already seen Éder Militão suffering a similar injury earlier in the season. This means they have two of their star defenders on the treatment table.

According to multiple reports, Real Madrid could make a move for a defender signing in January. However, Carlo Ancelotti will only make a move for a star defender should a such player become available in the market. The Italian manager also has other plans in mind should he fail to sign a defender.

He could play Dani Carvajal or Aurélien Tchouaméni as center-backs till his defenders recover from their injuries. They could try these combinations in the upcoming matches to decide before the January window starts.
