Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has finally broken his silence on Erling Haaland‘s injury. The Spaniard addressed the media during the press conference before the game against Luton Town. The Norwegian was absent from the first team as Manchester City took Kenilworth Road.

Haaland’s injury could be a colossal blow for Man City, as the player has been their top scorer in the league this season. The Norwegian striker has had a history of foot issues and it’s imperative to see how long it takes before Haaland makes a return to the Cityzens. The side is currently trailing behind Liverpool in the title race and needs all men on deck to close the gap.

The Manchester City boss touched down on his star striker injury during the press conference. However, the Spaniard did not reveal any major details, stating the team would monitor the situation each passing day before making any calls.

Guardiola stated, “A bone stress reaction in his foot, and after the last game, he felt it. He cannot play. I don’t know [the length of the injury]. Week by week, day by day, we will see what happens. We play with 11, that’s for sure.”

He then added, “Erling has been so important since he’s arrived, that’s for sure. But during the season we see this sort of thing. Injuries, suspensions, problems, we have to adapt. Julian Alvarez will be playing [as our center forward].”

It will be interesting to see if Manchester City can bag the three crucial points up for grabs tonight. The side has failed to bag a win in their last four victories and desperately needs to win tonight to keep themselves within a close margin of Liverpool as the side sits at the top of the table with 37 points.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola hits new low

Things have not worked out as planned for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola this season. The last defeat against Aston Villa saw the manager hit a new low in his career as he lost his first encounter against fellow manager Unai Emery in fifteen years.

To add more to his misery, Guardiola’s men were absolutely outclassed by Aston Villa, who outplayed them throughout the contest. Throughout the game, Manchester City could just get a single shot on target, which paled in comparison to Villa’s 22.
