It is not easy to impress a seasoned manager like Pep Guardiola, but that is exactly what Fernando Diniz did. Diniz currently holds the managerial position at the Brazilian club Fluminense and also serves as the interim manager of the Brazil national team. This impressive role caught Guardiola’s attention and left him questioning how the 49-year-old manages his time.

The two managers recently faced off in the Club World Cup final, with Guardiola’s Manchester City emerging as the victors. While the match was marred by a slight brawl between Kyle Walker and Felipe Melo, it seemed that the managers walked away with a show of respect for one another.

In a recent revelation, Guardiola shared the conversation he had with Diniz following the Club World Cup final. “I asked him how he manages to coach a team and a national team at the same time,” explained the Spanish manager with evident astonishment.

He further confessed, “I don’t know if he has a family or not, but I am truly baffled at how he finds the time.” The notion of managing two teams simultaneously is not entirely unheard of in the world of soccer. One notable example is Sir Alex Ferguson, who famously managed both Aberdeen FC and the Scotland national team from 1985 to 1986.

However, even with this precedent, Diniz’s ability to successfully handle both roles left Pep Guardiola dumbfounded. Also, it wasn’t just the manager that caught Guardiola’s attention, but also the talented young players of Fluminense.
