It was not the best night for Lionel Messi and Paris Saint-Germain. The French soccer giants suffered a humiliating defeat against Bayern Munchen in the UEFA Champions League. It was a sad moment for the fanbase too because the fans truly expected PSG to challenge for the trophy. The simple reason is that Lionel Messi just won the FIFA World Cup. The fans were hoping that the Argentine would carry the same momentum into the Champions League. Things got worse after a fan tried to seemingly tackle the Argentine after the final whistle.

Since then, that soccer fan has received loads of hate and criticism for trying to take down one of the game’s greatest players.

Without a doubt, it was an embarrassing night for the French soccer club. Like the others, Messi was on his way back to the dressing room. However, everyone is still unclear whether the fan slipped or tried to wipe out the soccer legend.

Another fan said, “What’s the benefit of invading a pitch like that? You paid a ticket for that game, and now you might get banned from attending forever”. Here’s another one, “My Lord can we as a fan base just not. Who the f**k keeps doing these things”. A fan said, “It ends when players keep ignoring them”.

Another fan also demanded that such actions should have serious consequences. He said, “It’s about time they should face really heavy penalties. It can be dangerous and accidentally hurting them as well like last week at Liverpool”.

All in all, it was a sad night for the Argentine World Cup winner. This begs the question, where did it all go wrong?

Is PSG struggling without Neymar Jr?

The fans were once pretty confident that PSG would be strong Champions League contenders. However, Bayern Munchen ended their dream in the Round of 16. Messi and his teammates failed to score even a single goal across the two legs. The German soccer club won both fixtures comprehensively. PSG seemingly never had a grip on both the games. They did force Yann Sommer into making a few saves, but they just weren’t lethal enough.

In fact, Kylian Mbappe looked the liveliest on the pitch. But there was no way back after Bayern’s Serge Gnabry scored the third goal on aggregate and pretty much ended the hopes of a French comeback. The French soccer club is already going through major issues after losing Neymar Jr for the rest of the season. The Brazilian winger will be getting surgery done on his ankle as soon as possible to fix a recurring problem.
