It’s not often that someone rejects a chance to play next to Cristiano Ronaldo. A plethora of European superstars have made their move to the Middle East to play in the Saudi Pro League. However, while many players continue to find greener pastures in the Saudi Pro League, some still have aspirations to deliver at the highest stage. Despite constant interest from the nation, it seems like Manchester City superstar Kevin De Bruyne has no plans to join the Middle Eastern project.
According to reports, officials from Saudi Arabia have made the Belgian midfielder their biggest priority for the summer. Sources from the Athletic have claimed Saudi Arabia is willing to launch a $80 million bid to sign the Manchester City superstar. Multiple Middle Eastern clubs had attempted to sign the player in December last year. However, the Belgian rejected all the requests to remain with the Cityzens.
De Bruyne’s existing deal with Manchester City ends in 2025, with the player yet to extend his deal with the club. While both the club and the player are eager to extend the contract, there is a possibility that the Belgian could move over to the United States in case he fails to reach an agreement with the Cityzens.

Kevin De Bruyne and his family believe the United States and the MLS are the better fit for his family in comparison to life in Saudi Arabia. With multiple clubs keen on his signatures, it will be intriguing to see what the future holds for the Belgian in the coming years. For now, KDB has his eyes set on making history with Manchester City.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola might have taken a sign of relief after his side edged past Bournemouth in the absence of Kevin De Bruyne. The midfielder’s absence was evident, as the Cityzens failed to make the most of the attacking situations. The Spaniard spoke of his decision to rest the midfielder during the press conference, claiming the Belgian is still not 100% and will need rests between games to avoid aggravating his old injury.
