Over the years, Cristiano Ronaldo has developed beautiful bonds with some of the best players in the world. While Ronaldo still gives his best on the pitch, one of his friends has decided to hang up his boots. Former Real Madrid and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor announced his retirement yesterday.
Adebayor has officially retired from his 22-year soccer career. The striker was playing for Togolese club AC Semmasi, which he joined back in July 2021. The player made 593 domestic appearances and bagged 207 goals and 65 assists. During this time, he has played for several clubs, thus ending his beautiful soccer journey.

In soccer, there are many kinds of bromances, but the duo of Ronaldo and Adebayor was something else. Both met in Madrid after Adebayor joined Madrid back in 2011. Indeed, the duo had a special relationship in soccer and created unforgettable memories.
The player sadly announced his retirement, saying, “From the highs to the lows, my career as a professional athlete has been an incredible journey. Thank you to my fans for being there every step of the way. I am feeling so grateful for everything, and I am excited for what is to come.”

A legendary soccer player
Emmanuel Adebayor has enjoyed a decent career in soccer. After kick-starting his career at AC Merlan Lome, the player began his European journey, thus playing for FC Metz. Soon he rose through the ranks of the French side and joined their rivals Monaco, where he enjoyed a decent 3 years.
The player then moved to Premier League giants Arsenal but soon joined their archrivals Manchester City. After watching him for two seasons, the player went to Spain on loan to enjoy soccer with Ronaldo. Soon he returned to England, where he played for Tottenham on a loan that later became a permanent transfer.

After staying without a club for a year, Crystal Palace signed him, but that spell ended very quickly. Since then, he has enjoyed various spells in Turkey and Paraguay with the likes of Basaksehir, Kayserispor, and Olimpia Asunción.
