This was an attempt by the former Athletic Bilbao center-back to appreciate the goal-scoring exploits of Erling Haaland, who scored a hat-trick against Manchester United in a 6-3 victory in October 2022.

Al Nassr added another star name to their squad

Aymeric Laporte joined the Knights of Njad for a transfer fee of $30 million and a weekly salary of $505,000 for the 2023-2024 season. This was the sixth signing for Al Nassr after Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Alex Telles, Seko Fofana, and Otavio with the aim of bolstering the squad with European talent alongside Cristiano Ronaldo. Previously, Laporte was an essential part of Manchester City, making 180 appearances and winning 13 major trophies with the English club.

Although the Spanish defender fell down pecking the order last season with the likes of Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, and Nathan Ake. As it stands, Al Alami Al would be a better fit for Laporte to continue his solid defensive instincts in the Arab soil this season.
