The national team of Brazil is in a difficult situation. This is because of their poor current form in the World Cup qualifiers. Hence, this has made fans have fewer expectations of them in the Copa America 2024. But a USNMT legend has an even worse expectation than the fans. He has also called them paper tigers and posers due to the injury of star player Neymar.

The form of the national team after an injury to Neymar proves his contribution and experience is invaluable to the team. This is despite the media in Brazil constantly criticizing his selection before his injury.

There is an old saying that one will miss that person only when he is not there in good and bad moments. However, unfortunately, the Brazilian national team is missing Neymar in their bad moments. Amid his ACL injury, the team lost their last three World Cup qualification matches. The 31-year-old remains in doubt for the Copa America 2024.  US national team legend has criticized the whole national team for their poor performances.

Alexi Lalas, speaking on the chances of Seleção Canarinha, said, “I love Brazil, but I am done with Brazil. They are posers. I don’t know how to say tigers in Portuguese. But they are paper tigers”. Former US player Stuart Holden was also very critical of the South American giants. Stuart made the point that the other attackers on the national team have failed to prove themselves in the absence of the Al Hilal star.

Colombia had 10 shots on target out of their 23. Their story in the next game against Argentina was a different one. They created chances. However, the problem was that they failed to convert their chances
