The 2022 edition of the FIFA World Cup is probably going to be the best one you see for a while. This FIFA campaign was full of drama and pure emotions from Day 1. Some teams were considered the absolute favorites, while there were a few teams that nobody really knew what to expect from. Even Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds enjoyed the finals, which turned out to be an absolute classic.

Amidst the World Cup, many celebrities have tweeted their views and opinions on social media. Co-Owner of Wrexham, Ryan Reynolds is one of them. Post the World Cup final, Reynolds could not contain the excitement within him and posted a very heart-warming tweet.

While the World Cup final was on, Reynolds took to Twitter to express the burst of excitement that he had for the final. Everyone thought that it would be Messi’s last game in the Argentine colors. That took the stakes of the game even higher.

By the look of Reynolds’ tweet, he seems uncontrollably excited. He isn’t wrong, though. What seemed like a soccer match that was fading away from France with every minute passing by suddenly turned on its head. Argentina was in the driver’s seat for most of the game. It was only at the 80th-minute mark when the French super striker scored two goals in just two minutes for Les Bleus.

That’s when fortunes changed along with everyone’s mindset. Messi was no longer smiling on the pitch anymore and so weren’t the Argentine fans. With the match drawn at 2-2, the game was perfectly set up for a nerve wracking ending.

The game went to extra time, and both sides scored, canceling each other out again. The World Cup final couldn’t get any more thrilling as went to penalties. Les Bleus missed two out of their four penalty attempts and ended up losing that game. Messi went on to win the World Cup and capped off a legendary career.

Even British television personality, Piers Morgan, tweeted that night expressing that he thought this was the best World Cup final. And how this final is a perfect representation of modern-day football.

Ryan Reynolds is a very established Canadian-American actor. In 2021, Reynolds and his co-actor Rob McElhenney took over Wrexham AFC. Wrexham currently plays in the National League in England, which is the 5 Tier of the English soccer pyramid.

Reynolds is also a true soccer fan. The duo didn’t want to buy a very well known and out-there soccer club. Reynolds once mentioned that he was not looking at the glamour part of soccer. He wanted commercial viability. He also wanted a soccer club that was buried in the roots of soccer history. Hence, Wrexham Town. Wrexham AFC has been around for over 150 years. This makes them the third oldest professional club in the world.
