Per recent rumors, Ronaldo’s Al Nassr is aiming to bring in a $40 million-rated midfielder to the Riyadh-based soccer club.

Meanwhile, FIFA has imposed a ban on Al Nassr, making their pursuit to sign new players a challenging endeavor. Cristiano Ronaldo sounds off on Al Nassr’s latest target

Ahead of the season, Al Nassr is now playing club friendlies, and they are doing it in style. In the most recent matchup, Al Nassr, without Cristiano Ronaldo, outsmarted FC Farense 5-1. During the match, Ronaldo spoke to Record about his club’s future signings. The Portuguese veteran stressed that the franchise is in a move to get stronger and is apparently trying to bring in a bunch of new talents. Soon enough, the 2016 UEFA Euro winner addressed fellow Portuguese international Otavio’s potential move to Al Nassr.

Days back, Ronaldo himself had reportedly tried to lure Otavio to Al-Awwal Park. “There’s talk of Otávio, like 10 or 15 others who have been talked about, there’s no news yet,” Ronaldo told Record. Soon, CR7 dismissed the rumors that his team and Otavio has closed a deal. ”
“Totally a lie. They release the news, but there is nothing finalized. Al Nassr already had ten players who were going there and nothing was seen,” said Ronaldo. “We know we’re going to strengthen, that’s clear, but nothing concrete yet.”

FIFA’s recent ban on Al Nassr

Al Nassr recently made news after they signed the Croatian international Marcelo Brozovic this summer. However, the Arabian club has now kept its transfer activities on hold. According to a FIFA statement, Ronaldo’s team is banned from signing new players due to outstanding debts.

Per reports, the debts are related to a 2018 move that brought Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa to Al Nassr from Leicester City. Al Nassr had to pay €460,000 to the Premier League side for signing Musa. FIFA’s statement, however, stressed that the ban will immediately be lifted upon clearing the outstanding debt. Al Nassr will indeed be impatient for transfer activities to resume, as they will get way stronger as CR7 explained.
