The build-up and the preparation for the visit of Cristiano Ronaldo-led Al Nassr to China was on another level. However, hours before the first friendly, the rumors unfortunately became the breaking news. The tour was canceled because of the injury problems of the Portuguese star. But, it looks like the fans have not taken the news well. They stormed the hotel where the Saudi giants were staying.

The 38-year-old forward has found himself in a couple of controversies in the last few days. Hence, the Knights of Najd star forward will be certainly disappointed with the cancellation because of him.

After the plan of Lionel Messi’s visit to China didn’t materialize, the fans were ready to welcome Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo. In the end, it turned out to be the bearer of bad news. The organizers and the 38-year-old himself announced that the two friendlies would not happen. Now hours later after the announcement, the frustrations of the fans of China came out. Hundreds of fans with posters of the star forward protested outside the hotel where the Al Nassr players were staying.

The hotel security immediately asked them to leave. However, all the supporters of the five-time Ballond’Or winner did not move. In the end, the Chinese police had to intervene, and the situation was put under control. The organizers would have certainly expected the disappointment of the fans. However, they would not have expected the gathering in the hundreds.

Ronaldo expressed his disappointment over the cancellation

Cristiano Ronaldo was also present in the press conference with manager Luis Castro and the tour organizers. The Al Nassr star, after the announcement, rendered a heartfelt apology to the Chinese fans who had bought the tickets. He expressed his sadness and also added that he did not suffer many injuries during his 22-year-old career. However, the unfortunate day of his physical issues happened before the China tour.

The organizers also confirmed that the money spent on tickets will be immediately refunded. As far as the Knights of Najd are concerned, they will return to Saudi Arabia to prepare for the Riyadh Cup. It will be interesting whether Cristiano Ronaldo passes the fitness to play against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.
