Hopes were high following his $98 million move to Al Hilal. However, an unfortunate ACL injury sustained while on international duty effectively ended his season. Moreover, he is rumored to have split with his partner Bruna Biancardi. Despite the difficulties, the Brazilian has opened up on some moments‘ that keep him going as he welcomes 2024.

On his social media handle, the soccer icon captioned, “2023 was a very difficult year for me but these 3 moments will remain in my memory and in my heart“. Let’s have a glance at the Brazilian superstar’s personal highlights from the last year.

Many did not see Neymar’s move to Al Hilal coming. As a result, the transfer generated quite a buzz and his presentation was an eagerly awaited affair. The event didn’t disappoint as more than 59000 fans turned up to see the Brazilian’s unveiling. Incidentally, this was also the highest attendance at the King Fahd Stadium since 2014.

The Brazilian icon was delighted at the reception and vowed to the fans that he had come to win a lot of titles. Despite his ACL tear, Al Hilal is the league leader and looks on course to win the league title.

2. Neymar surpasses the ‘King’

Brazil’s match against Bolivia in the World Cup qualifiers was quite a significant milestone for Neymar. His brace meant that he went past Pele as the Selecao’s all-time leading men’s goalscorer. Pele had netted 77 times for the 5 time World Cup winners while the Al Hilal star currently sits at 79.

However, the former Barcelona man remained as respectful as ever despite the immense achievement. After the match, Neymar said that he was not a better player than Pele. Interestingly, despite his spectacular record for Brazil. Neymar is yet to win a Copa America or a World Cup.

3. Welcoming Mavie into this world

2023 October was an eventful month for the Brazilian maverick. This was the month when he suffered his ACL tear, but also the month when his daughter Mavie was born. Neymar has regularly shared photos of his daughter via social media.
