Rooney had a disastrous time with the club, winning just two games with the side. The ex-Manchester United star, following the sack, took to his social media to address the fans while discussing the next step in his career.

Amidst lofty ambitions, Wayne Rooney had a premature end to his time in charge of Birmingham City. The Englishman failed to deliver the expectations following his arrival at the club, with things taking a turn for the worse. Despite a satisfactory start to their season, Tom Brady’s soccer club slipped down to the 20th place under Rooney, igniting fury amongst fans.

While Rooney might have had a disastrous time at the club, but looks like the former soccer star already knows what’s next for him. The Englishman took to social media to address his former employers and fans discussing his future.

Rooney, in his message, thanked the club for taking a chance with him. The former United star, in his post, stated, “I would like to thank Tom Wagner, Tom Brady, and Garry Cook for the opportunity to manage Birmingham City FC and the support they all gave me during my short period with the club.”

He then discussed his future, adding, “Personally, it will take me some time to get over this setback. I have been involved in professional football, as either a player or manager, since I was 16. Now, I plan to take some time with my family as I prepare for the next opportunity in my journey as a manager.”

Tom Brady’s side will want to turn the tides after a disastrous campaign this season. The side had a rough run under Rooney, with Birmingham slipping to the 20th position on the standings. The team is currently just five points clear of the relegation zone. With a demanding set of fixtures ahead of the side, the team will have a lot on their plate in the coming weeks.
