He followed that strike with an iconic celebration as Brazilian legend Ronaldinho picked up the Argentinian on his back. Since then, their friendship has remained forever. Moreover, the Inter Miami star also made a funny comment as Ronaldinho teased a big announcement.

It will be interesting to see what the former Barcelona legend is planning behind the scenes. But, for the moment, social media is loving the interaction of Messi with his former teammate.

Brazil and Argentina continue to have an intense soccer rivalry on the international stage. However, there is something about Barcelona in how players of both nationalities win trophies together and build long-lasting camaraderie. One close bond is of Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho. The Brazilian has shared on his Instagram handle that he is preparing to start a new chapter in his life. 

A photo of him in the old Barcelona kit accompanied the caption to shower in some curiosity. It made Lionel Messi remember the old days at the La Liga club. The Argentinian wrote in the comments, “What a picture! Those walks from the locker room to the farmhouse field drinking coffee. Hahahaha.”

It seems like both have continued the star-studded partnership they had at Barcelona. During their four years with the La Liga giants, the duo won five trophies, entertaining fans with a tiki-taka playing style. The Spanish giants also had a brilliant record when both were on the pitch in the eighty matches. Notably, the Brazilian World Cup winner scored 38 goals and provided 32 assists for the team. Lionel Messi scored 29 goals and provided 12 assists.

It led to Lionel Messi finding a friend and teammate that would never leave his side. Ronaldinho also had such high expectations that he predicted the Argentinian’s success at the start of his career. He discussed those claims with the legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant.

In his successful playing career, Ronaldinho had friends in soccer and other sports. One of them was NBA legend Kobe Bryant. In 2006, when the Brazilian met him, he was introduced to Lionel Messi and told him that the Argentinian would become the greatest soccer player. At that time, Kobe did not take it seriously as the Argentinian was only 17.

The late NBA legend also told Ronaldinho that he is the greatest soccer player in the world. But, the Brazilian remained firm with opinion. Since then, years have gone by, and Messi has proved those claims and created history.
