Wrexham AFC has taken the soccer world by storm. The Welsh club has endured massive success, thanks to the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The Hollywood duo arrived at the club with one ambition: to take the club to the Premier League. Although they did complete the first stage of the process, the road to the Premier League is still very long.

The story may differ; however, their big dream of making it to the big leagues isn’t new. Over the years, other soccer clubs have given their hearts and souls to reach England’s top division. Coventry reached the finals of the playoff round by beating Middlesbrough with a narrow win in the second leg. Now they’ll be playing against Luton Town in the Championship Promotional Play-offs, who beat Sunderland in the second leg. The Hatters are coming with a huge comeback, after losing 2-1 in the first leg, thus clinching the final spot on aggregate.

Either team that wins the final will join the already-promoted Burnley and Sheffield United. Indeed, Tozer will be wishing with his guts that it had been Wrexham. Either way, he’ll be hoping to emulate their journey, as he facsimiled Reynolds’ 10-year promise to make it into $9 billion worth Premier League.

Indeed, it’s good to hear about Coventry City’s successful journey. This must be the exact thing that Reynolds’ side is craving. He even expressed his goal of leading the club to the highest division within a decade. “In 10 years’ time, the plan has and always will be the Premier League,” he said. “If it’s theoretically possible to go from the fifth tier to the Premier League, why wouldn’t we try?”
