Cristiano Ronaldo recently has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. The Al Nassr star pointed out that the Saudi League is better than the Ligue 1. The comments have made fans and organizers of the cash-rich league happy. However, a PSG legend has trolled the Portuguese forward for making comments by highlighting the name of Lionel Messi.

The comments by the Ligue 1 giants legend are surely going to spread like fire on social media. Let’s take a deep dive into why such a huge statement was made against the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

The Al Nassr star won three awards, including the Diego Maradona Award for the best goal scorer. However, rather than the fans celebrating his win in Dubai, he has found himself in a problem with his statement. He claimed that the Saudi League is doing well and is better than Ligue 1. His statement went viral, following which PSG legend Laure Boulleau hit back at the 38-year-old. She said, “I was surprised by his communication. Why attack Ligue 1? Because Lionel Messi played here? I asked myself why he mentioned Ligue 1 and not other leagues. It’s out of character for him to say that. I think he’s played in plenty of other leagues, except this one, so I think it’s a bit lame.”

While trolling the Al Nassr star, she also hit back at the quality of the cash-rich league. The PSG legend said that she saw a few matches of the Saudi League and found the statement not true. However, amid all the trolling, she said that the statements of the 38-year-old will not stop her from liking the Portuguese forward as a player.

It is not just Laure Boulleau who has made the statement against the Al Nassr skipper. Other legends of the game and experts have also called out the Portuguese star for his controversial statement.

Ex-Liverpool icon Albert Riera has also called out the 38-year-old forward for his statement. He added that Cristiano Ronaldo has the right to say anything. However, before making any comments, he could watch some Ligue 1 matches. The official social media account of the French league also did not stay behind in mocking the Al Nassr star.

They posted the picture of  former PSG star Lionel Messi right after Ronaldo’s controversial statement.

Whereas, the Lille manager added that commenting on the issue is not worth his time. Paula Foseca said,  “If he feels happy in Saudi Arabia, I’m happy for him. There are some things that aren’t worth my time to respond to.”
