In soccer, promotion, and relegation play a vital role. Teams from the top divisions contest for silverware, while teams from the lower divisions rally together to clinch promotion. The system has been part of the heritage of this sport and continues to be followed today. It has ultimately been a case for Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham.

The club has played in the English fifth division for the past fifteen years. However, they are close to achieving their promotion after so many years. The same principle applies in other leagues. This gives the other team a chance to play in the upper divisions to prove themselves. It also helps them earn several incentives as well. This system is only applicable in soccer, but is it possible this could be implemented in other sports, primarily American football?

This is a suggestion recently given by an NFL informant.

Recently, the NFL saw a big sale as one of its franchises, the Washington Commanders, was sold for a whopping $6 billion. The team has been sold to Josh Harris, an owner of the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and the NHL’s New Jersey Devils. The Commanders’ longtime owner, Dan Snyder, has constantly been involved in maneuvers, thus leading him to sell the team.

The reason seems quite valid given the Commanders’ sale, however, there might be a reason why the team was being sold. Recently, an NFL insider, Adam Levitan, highlighted the other side of the sale. He recently gave his views on the sale of the NFL side, where Snyder pocketed a huge sum.

He suggested that the American football league should also introduce the promotion and relegation system.

The NFL is, of course, one of the biggest leagues in the world. The league is quite rich, both financially and viewership-wise. Aside from the whole league, the teams also earn decently, but the team’s owners have little incentive to win. Hence, this quite justifies why the owners primarily sell their teams. Either way, implementing the English soccer system may help the league and the owners as well. The system was even recently praised by Wrexham owner, Ryan Reynolds.

It was quite an emphatic win for Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground against their fierce rivals, Notts County. The Welsh side clinched three points to make their chances for automatic promotion stronger. The win, of course, left fans ecstatic, as was the owner, Reynolds. The Deadpool star was in awe of the emphatic fixture while hailing the English soccer system.

The owner said, “Everything about the sport and the way the sport is handled here, the pyramid system, relegation, and promotion, creates stakes like nothing else.” The actor was quite impressed and proud of the league’s system, as it gave him a sense of pride and exhilaration that his team got promoted.
