Manchester United are currently facing a dilemma. Following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, fans are expecting a top-class manager, who will pull them out of their misery. From Mauricio Pochettino to Zinedine Zidane, the rumors have well and truly begun.

However, one cannot forget the work Solskjaer did, arriving at a similar period in the club’s history. Following the mess United found themselves in after Sir Alex Ferguson retired, Ole came in, picked them up from their slump, and rebuilt last year’s runner-ups from the scratch. Acknowledging the same, Cristiano Ronaldo penned a heartfelt message for his gaffer.

Cristiano Ronaldo delivers a heartwarming message

The Portuguese forward posted an emotional message for Solskjaer, following his sacking. Ronaldo said, “He’s been my striker when I first came to Old Trafford and he’s been my coach since I came back to Man. United. But most of all, Ole is an outstanding human being. I wish him the best in whatever his life has reserved for him. Good luck, my friend! You deserve it!”

While his squad performed poorly, Ronaldo scored nine goals in 13 appearances under the Norwegian. He often helped the team when they looked done and dusted, at the brink of defeat. Hence, the next manager would hope CR7 continues this form and they get the best out of him.

SHOCKING: Manchester United have “No Succession Plan” in Place for New Manager

How can Ronaldo be utilized?

With Pochettino rumored to come to the club, his system involves high-intensity pressing with counter-attacking soccer. During his time at Spurs, the style he adopted was beautiful to watch with Son and Lucas Moura bombarding the wings. Hence, incorporating Ronaldo into the team would be significant for the manager’s tactical nous.

However, Poch’s system includes pressing upfront. Harry Kane worked hard for the team as he led the pressing scenarios for Spurs. Although his fitness levels are right up there with the best, pressing isn’t Ronaldo’s strongest suit.

Getting the best out of Ronaldo is a hard task, but making him play alongside another striker in Greenwood or Rashford can be utilized to neglect his lack of pressing. The first thing would also be to get a defensive midfielder, which would help the team’s creative players to go in full throttle.
