Roy Keane lashes out at players

Despite holding Chelsea to a draw at Stamford Bridge, United has had a poor season. Considering the signings that came in with the likes of Varane, Sancho, and Ronaldo, big things were expected. But, they have failed to live up to their expectations. Hence, Keane criticized the squad for giving Solskjaer the sack.

“Maybe Ole was too friendly with them. Maybe that was a problem. Maybe he was too nice to these lads because these lads have done what I predicted and thrown him under the bus,” said Keane.

Their recent performances against Villareal and Chelsea might give them some hope. But, the job at United is hard for any incoming coach. Taking time off to appoint a new manager would be the perfect scenario, considering their history with the changing managers. Ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club, they lacked a leader and a vocal coach who could galvanize the team. David Moyes got sacked after eight months, while Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho tried their luck. But, none of them could get their blueprint on the squad.

Thus, one can say that Solskjaer did a good job in rebuilding the club from where it was before. By selling off a lot of deadwood, he reinvigorated the team from top to bottom, bringing in world-class players. He also brought up younger players to the main squad like Greenwood and Amad Diallo. However, the lack of tactics and good results led to the sacking of Norwegian.
