Their belief in his ability gave him the confidence to keep working until he established himself in the Servette FC academy. In January 2023, he took the next major step in his career by joining SC Freiburg’s academy in Germany.

He progressed rapidly through the club’s youth system, featuring for the Under-19 side before earning promotion to the reserve team. During the 2023-24 season, he made 10 appearances in the 3. Liga and scored twice, proving that his technical ability and football intelligence mattered far more than his physical stature.

When Manzambi received the news of his first senior call-up to the Switzerland national team, his parents were among the very first people he contacted. “Playing in the World Cup is a childhood dream. When the coach messaged me, I was over the moon and immediately shared the news with my family, my agent, and my friends,” he said, reflecting on the emotional moment.
