Coming to Garbine’s performances during the WTA Finals, she beat some top players during the event. She only lost one match in the event, the first, to Karolina Pliskova. After that, her four match winning streak ensured she emerged with the title. In the semi-finals, she faced another Spaniard, Paulo Badosa, who was fresh off her brilliant title-winning run at Indian Wells.
However, the experienced head prevailed as Muguruza won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Despite unimpressive Grand Slam campaigns in 2021, she ended the season on a great note, winning the WTA Finals for the first time in her career. Now that the season is over, we wish her all the best in her preparations for the upcoming 2022 season. All eyes will be on her when she steps on the tennis courts once again.
