Super Smash Bros Ultimate Gets Second Final Fantasy VII Fighter

The Game Awards concluded a few hours ago. The event, apart from awards, had a lot of new trailers for various games. There were many exclusive presentations about exciting new additions to current games. One of these was the “World Premiere of a brand new character” in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Nintendo took the Game Awards stage to unveil the second Final Fantasy VII character coming to Smash Bros. The game previously introduced Cloud Strife from FF7 as one of the fighters. This time, they have chosen the popular antagonist, Sephiroth, to join the battle.

Sephiroth will come to Super Smash Bros Ultimate as a part of the Fighters Pass

Sephiroth has descended to battle and he ‘”shall give Smash despair“. As an effort to continuously add more characters in addition to the base fighter at launch, Nintendo released Fighters Pass for the game. The first DLC fighter pass came in 2018, shortly after the launch of the game. It introduced Joker from Persona 5, a Dragon Quest Hero, Banjo and Kazooie from Banjo-Kazooie, The King of Fighters’ Terry Bogard, and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses.

The second pass has already introduced Min Min from Arms in June and Minecraft mascots Steve and Alex in October. Finally, as the third addition, Nintendo added the ‘One Winged Angel’ Sephiroth to the battle. There are 6 fighters that will be a part of the pass. The last three still remain a mystery.

Players can buy the complete Fighter Pass DLC bundle for $29.99. Moreover, they can also purchase individual characters for $5.99 each. With the addition of Sephiroth, it brings the roster of Super Smash Bros Ultimate to 85. Out of these 76 were a part of the base game, and Nintendo added 9 more as DLC.

For those fans who cannot wait while the next part of FF7 remake comes out, they can get their dose from Smash Bros Ultimate.Three more slots remain for the second Fighter Pass- who would you like to see join the battle?
