The 17-year-old environment activist Greta Thunberg has been spreading awareness and campaigning for the planet’s welfare since August 2018. The Stockholm native’s movement is widely known as “The Greta effect”. Recently Thunberg criticized Roger Federer for endorsing Credit Suisse. The Swedish activist along with the team from Lausanne Action Climate took a dig on the 20-time Grand Slam champion Federer.

Credit Suisse is the second-largest bank in Switzerland. They have invested $57 billion in fossil fuel enterprises which has a negative impact on the environment. The climate activists formulated a tweet with a hashtag on Twitter “#Rogerwakeupnow”  (Roger wake up now). They also carried a banner that said, “Credit Suisse is destroying the planet. Roger, do you support them?” The young climate-activist Thunberg added her voice by retweeting the same.

Also, the Swiss climate activists appeared in court a few days ago. They refused to pay a fine of 20,000 euros for their protests against Credit Suisse. Imposing a fine on the climate activists wasn’t a fair move and Thunberg showed her supported with a retweet. 

The relationship between Credit Suisse and Roger Federer

Federer 2020 season’s commencement

World Number three Roger Federer will commence his 2020 tennis season at the Australian Open. He was last seen in an exhibition event in China and then flew to Dubai for tennis training. Federer has also confirmed his title defense at Miami open 2020. Before that, he is also expected to play in Dubai, where he entered the century-club of ATP titles in 2019.

Federer is all set to break into the Billionaire club. Presently his on-and-off-court earnings are close to $900 million. In 2020 with his investment in the shoe enterprise, On, exhibitions and other lucrative sponsorship deals, Federer is most likely to cross the $1 billion bar. No tennis player ever in the history of the sport has entered the Billionaire club.
