With the US Open releasing its official statement to host the tournament this year in New York, it will be taking place as per the scheduled dates i.e., from August 31 to September 13, 2020, with Governor Cuomo and New York State approving the occurrence of the US Major in 2020.
Also, Cincinnati Open will take place at Flushing Meadows this year, instead of their regular venue in Mason, Ohio.
However, the New Yorkers won’t be allowed this year in the stadium to witness their favorite players swing their tennis racquets. The governor of New York Andrew Mark Cuomo made it clear before giving the approval. “We’re excited about the US Open, (which) is going to be held in Queens, Aug. 31 through Sept. 13. It will be held without fans, but you can watch it on TV — and I’ll take that,” Cuomo announced in Albany. “The tennis authorities are going to be taking extraordinary precautions, but that’s going to take place.”
