Venus Williams Reveals Her Most Overwhelming Experience at Wimbledon

Tennis world is well acquainted with Venus Williams’ unparalleled success in the SW19 district of London. She had made to the Wimbledon finals nine times over the past two decades. 40-year-old American legend Venus is still determined to ace on the elite grass-courts.
One of the most exciting Wimbledon victories of Williams came in the year 2005. Wherein she saved a match point in the championship match against Lindsay Davenport. And later she sealed the title by closing out the final 9-7 in the third set.
Despite playing some epic singles matches, she feels her London Olympics victory alongside Serena Williams Wimbledon’s center-court ‘stands out’ in her prolific career. The legendary sisters have won six doubles titles at Wimbledon Championships. However, winning an Olympic Gold for the United States on the same turf remains close to her heart.

“The first time was an overwhelming experience, and obviously super special for me,” Venus Williams told PEOPLE in this week’s edition. “The 2012 Olympics stand out as of one of the most interesting experiences of my career, but all those doubles wins are so special to Serena and me.”
Williams sisters defeated Czech Republic’s Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka in the Gold medal match.
During the 2012 Olympics, Serena was also victorious in the singles domain. That year, she completed her ‘Golden Slam’ by defeating Maria Sharapova in the finals. And a few weeks before, she had also won the Wimbledon title.

Further, Venus Williams talked about the role of her mother Oracene Price in her career. Not just tennis, she has also supported her to flourish in her entrepreneurial ventures.
