Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been playing tennis for quite a long time. He has played so many tournaments that one might wonder what his opinion on the sport is. In a recent interview, Nick talked about this and he said:
“At times, tennis is, it’s a shit sport. It’s so frustrating, you have to incredibly patient. And losing sucks and you lose a lot in tennis. But you know there are actually times when I love the grime, I love training, I love putting in. But there are times when I hate it.”
No tennis player likes losing a match, but it is a part of the game and players have to accept that. However, Nick does not believe in that as he said, “I never accept losing, to be honest. I am pretty bad at that. Anything I play, I am very competitive.”

Nick Kyrgios on ‘tanking’ matches
Nick said that he was a very competitive player and did not like to lose. However, back in 2017, the Australian admitted to tanking matches throughout his career. He said:
“I played eighteen tournaments and I probably tanked eight of them… Some days it’s fun to play but sometimes I’d rather be doing something else. When I’m on the road there are times when I find the motivation tough.”

No tennis fan likes it when players tank a match as they want a competitive battle. Such battles are the reason tennis has such a huge following, and his fans will no doubt be hoping that Nick doesn’t end up tanking anymore matches.
