The life of Sha’Carri Richardson has taken a different route since her mother passed away. The American sprinter was looking to take home the gold at Tokyo Olympics 2020, but things became complicated. Even though she was one of their best sprinters, the American tested positive for marijuana and got disqualified from the US trials. The 21-year-old sprinter won the 100-meter trials in Oregon but could not take part because of the cannabis issue. However, things have taken a different turn.

The sprinter will make her debut in Kanye West’s new album, Donda.

The American sprinter debuts in West’s new album Donda, which is scheduled to release on August 6th. Richardson starred in Kanye’s Beats commercial earlier. Previews of songs have been out on Instagram as Richardson looks to set the stage on fire. Despite all her issues regarding the ban, Richardson stated she smoke cannabis to help her recover from the loss of her mother. But, the Olympic committee took strict action against her and gave her a one-month ban. Instead, the new album with Kanye speaks volumes about the respect she has in the hip-hop industry.

Richardson missed Tokyo Olympics 2020

Even though this marks her entry into the music industry, she was disappointed to be banned from Tokyo. She spoke in an interview about her disappointment and hope to be back in Paris 2024.

“It sent me into a state of emotional panic. I didn?t know how to control my emotions or deal with my emotions during that time,” said Richardson.

After the ban, she apologized to her family, friends, and sponsors and spoke about the problems she faced in recent times. The World Anti-Doping Agency prohibits marijuana because of the problems it possesses. Different reasons given are enhancement of performance, posing a health risk to athletes, as well as violating the spirit of the sport.
