How Is Skateboarding Legend Tony Hawk the Origin of the Infamous ‘Nah He Tweakin’ Meme?

Instagram is being flooded with ‘Nah he tweakin’ comments on almost every post. Be it an emotional post, or an appreciation post, the trend is now spreading like wildfire. Tony Hawk posted a collectors skateboard where a drop of blood was mixed with the paint. On this, American Rapper Lil Nas X shared the aforementioned comment which became viral. Moreover, almost all the posts in Instagram have the comment as a new viral trend starts.

Tony Hawk releases new skateboards

The trend started when renowned skater Tony Hawk released a customized skateboard with a drop of his own blood mixed with the paint. The post mentioned the following.

“#TonyHawk’s blood is being used in $500 limited-edition skateboards. Y’all rockin with it⁉️”

Hawk partnered with beverage company Liquid Death to create some unique skateboards. They mixed the blood taken from Hawk with some red paint and the limited edition skateboard was on sale for $500. Quite a unique idea but it comes with a lot of controversies. Hawk is known for being the first man to land a 900 in X games.

However, things took a wild turn from there.

Lil Nas X comes up with a trend

After that, Nas put up a creative comment under the post which seemed to be the perfect reply. However, he could not have imagined that it would receive this much fanfare.

Earlier, Lil Nas released shoes with Nike’s trademark Tick with a drop of human blood under the red sole. This move caused controversy as Nike sued the Brooklyn-based company Lil Nas partnered with.

Hawk’s skateboards were not met with the same disapproval and controversy that was stirred up by Lil Nas’s shoes. Thus, the comment made sense considering why Nas would be infuriated.

Despite Tony’s legacy under the X Games banner, there aren’t many differences between the products. Lil Nas X must feel a sense of hypocrisy looming over the issue. Thus, the ‘Nah he tweakin’.
