The Roufusport MMA Academy product landed a beautiful head kick in round 3 to secure the interim gold. Later, a wonderful picture of the champion flying in the air and Archuleta laying on the ground became viral.

The iconic MMA journalist, John Morgan, articulated an incredible message about the snap. He wrote, “How can a photo be both simultaneously incredible and also look like the worst Photoshop of all time?? Lol.”

“Just missing BJ down in that lower left corner, I thnk. #Bellator279,” Morgan added.

Anyhow, Stots had a remarkable performance at Bellator 279. The new interim champion showed he is amongst the best bantamweight fighters in the world. The 33-year-old improved to 18-1 with the win and will wait for a unification bout against Sergio Pettis.

On the other hand, it was an opportunity missed by the former bantamweight champion, who suffered his second straight loss in Bellator. The 34-year-old would have a tough road to get back to the championship in a stacked Bellator bantamweight division.
