T.J. Dillashaw is finally set to make his way back to the octagon after serving a two-year mandatory USADA suspension. Chiefly, Dillashaw popped for EPO after his title fight against Henry Cejudo and was eligible to return to competition in January 2021. Despite the lay-off, T.J. Dillashaw has been heavily invested in training as he takes on Cory Sandhagen.
T.J. Dillashaw sat down with Brendan Schaub on an episode of Food Truck Diaries and spoke out on his team and training for his return. Dillashaw trains under the banner of ‘The Treigning Lab’ out in California. Despite going through a tumultuous phase in his career, Dillashaw has stuck around with largely the same team as before.

He told Schaub, “I’ve been working with a lot of guys. I got to thank a lot of people that have not only stuck with me through this two-year suspension but also the new people that I brought on.”
“I can only have four cornermen but I’ve been working out with Tyle Wombles out of Classic Fight team…. Julian [Chua], he was actually working with Wild Card West but he’s now at the Brickhouse….I’ve worked a lot of boxing.”
“I knew Roger from when I sparred Lomachenko, so I started training with him again. Julian, I met through a manager. I continue to work with Duane [Ludwig], still got Philipe [Furao] down at Gracie Barra, Darryl [Christian] with my wrestling, Leister [Bowling].”

T.J Dillashaw: On the comeback trail
While Dillashaw’s official association remains with Duane Ludvig as his head coach and Treigning Lab as his home, he clearly moves around. This is nothing news for fans who have followed his career extensively and are aware of his approach to fighting.

T.J. Dillashaw isn’t overly concerned with sticking to one lane, rather he prefers to keep on picking up new assets. It’s hard to argue against this methodology as it has been a fruitful endeavor so far in his career.
