Conor McGregor appeared in a video and told the audience that he had become a part owner of BKFC. ‘The Notorious’ announced that his company, McGregor Sports and Entertainment, has acquired a minor portion of BKFC.

However, just days after buying the stake, McGregor might be in for bad news because UFC welterweight fighter Dan Hardy gave some inside news about BKFC and its future.

Dan Hardy is associated with the Professional Fighters League, a direct competition for UFC and BKFC. However, considering the present scenario, BKFC is ahead of PFL, and the involvement of ‘Mystic Mac’ and the news about his BKFC ownership have only benefited the promotion and its stake. Despite the popular sentiment, ‘The Outlaw’ prefers PFL, and he had a detailed reason why investing in bare knuckle might not be a good idea, especially in the long term.

Speaking on the MMAFightingonSBN, Hardy mentioned,Great points were raised around the bloodiness of BKFC. I do think that is gonna stumble a little bit more than MMA did. MMA had a lot of resistance in the early days,” even till 2010. He further countered that MMA had people to fight for its place, whereas BKFC is growing in MMA’s “shadows”.

The Outlaw stated, “BFKC has grown in the shadow of MMA so it’s covered a lot more distance. I still don’t think it’s gonna reach the same kind of fans and the same kind of sponsorships right now that MMA would.”

Hardy believes that MMA looks “more sanitized” than bare-knuckle even though Hardy loves it. McGregor might have put his money into a sport that is still finding its footing, but his decision did earn him applause from the MMA GOAT Demetrious Johnson.

Demetrious Johnson praised Conor McGregor’s business mentality

‘The Notorious’ not only is a Hollywood actor now with several businesses outside UFC, but he also partly owns BKFC. This is another feather in McGregor’s growing business empire. This move resulted in UFC Flyweight champ ‘Mighty Mouse’ praising the Irishman’s business perspectives. He also compared McGregor to Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

In one of his YouTube videos, Johnson claimed, “I feel like Conor McGregor is kind of like the MMA Dwayne Johnson; anything this man touches, it turns to gold. He touches a bar: Irish Forged Stout, it turns to gold. He touches Proper No. 12 whiskey, it turns to gold. The man jumps in a movie with Jake Gyllenhaal in Roadhouse, it turns to gold.”

However, the GOAT also had cautionary advice for ‘Mystic Mac’ and wondered if the BKFC venture would be successful. He is doubtful whether BKFC will turn into a gold mine or not, so it is only the future that can tell the results.
