Biaggio Ali Walsh revealed the tremendous weight he carries on his shoulders. Despite his grandfather being a legendary boxer, Ali Walsh chose MMA as his sport choice. He shared that it could be more of a curse than a blessing to be related to an iconic figure in sports; more so when your grandfather is one of the greatest to set foot in boxing. Walsh is the grandson of the iconic Muhammad Ali, who needs no introduction among general audiences and hardcore boxing fans alike. Ali danced his way into the hearts of millions of Americans and cemented his status as The Greatest of All Time.

Meanwhile, his grandson, Ali Walsh, came out as a winner in a PFL event. And shared how it felt to walk in his legendary grandfather’s footsteps.

Was Biaggio Ali Walsh born to be a fighter?

The MMA novice strongly aspires to have a successful career as a fighter in combat sports. But he also understands why the viewers would constantly compare him to his grandfather throughout his career.  TMZ did an interview with him to talk about his KO victory against amateur fighter Tom Graesser in Professional Fighters League Season Championship event at Madison Square Garden.

In the interview, Walsh firmly stated that his grandfather was not the reason behind his choice to partake in Combat sports. He also knew that he would eventually end up in combat sports.

“I truly believe that I was born to do this. I believe that me and my brother, both were destined to be in combat sports.”

Regardless of who our grandfather is or not, I feel like we were born to fight.”

Ali Walsh looks forward to a decorated MMA career and hopes to tie a championship belt around his waist at some point.

Muhammad Ali would be proud

The PFL fighter spoke about the fond memory of Cassius Clay and the shadow of influence he cast over his family. ‘The Greatest’ would be proud of his grandson’s choice and maybe give him some useful tips. But he would also understand the amount of pressure that followed.

“He would have told me he was proud of me.”

“He acknowledges the fact that me and my brother have to deal with the pressure of who he was and what he stood for.” said Biaggio Ali Walsh.

After he won the match against Graesser. Ali Walsh is eager to get back to the fighting game.
