It is not often that two heavyweights from two different sports come together at an event. But this is exactly what happened as Former F1 driver Jacky Ickx met with the MMA legend Conor McGregor at a recent event.

The two icons were present at the Chopard Gentleman’s Evening, where they ran into each other. The former Ferrari driver took his Instagram to share a couple of pictures with the Notorious One.

“Unexpected encounter with MMA @thenotoriousmma yesterday night at @chopard Gentlemen’s Evening,” wrote Ickx in the caption.

This is not the first time that the Irish MMA fighter has met with an F1 legend. In 2017, he got the chance to sit and interact with Mercedes driver and 7-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.

They were seated beside the likes of Supermodel Irina Shayk, singer Rita Ora, and actress Jourdan Dunn. It looked like both superstars enjoyed their time at the event. It was quite a rare sight to see both athletes in the same frame at a Red Carpet event.

Currently, both legends are struggling to find their best in their individual professions. McGregor has not been seen in the Octagon for quite some time now, as he has struggled with injuries.

Hamilton has slid a little bit in the pecking order in F1 at the beginning of the 2022 season. He is currently 6th in the championship, with just one solitary podium to his name. The Mercedes driver has not managed to bag any pole positions or wins as of yet.
