Former MMA fighter Gina Carano ushered the MMA world into a new dawn as she fought Cris Cyborg for the Strikeforce women’s featherweight championship in 2009. While she lost in the first such headliner, she cemented her reputation as the “face of the women’s MMA”. Later on, she switched her career path and transitioned to Hollywood. However, the year 2008 holds a special place in her life when she achieved the peak in her fighting career. Besides fighting in Elite XC, she also shared the promotion’s limelight along with legendary Kimbo Slice, Jake Shields, and Andrei Arlovski. Recently, the Hollywood actor went down the memories lane as she found a clip from the old days.

Sharing the same on her Instagram handle, the 40-year-old expressed her gratefulness and further admitted that the clip made her smile. Notably, she gave fans a sneak peek at her mundane life in the year 2008, which she dearly missed.

The MMA fighter-turned-actor mentioned she found the clip that someone shared with her. In the initial seconds of the emotional clip, the fans could witness ‘Crus’ walking down the road with the noted figure Kimbo Slice, former Strikeforce champion Jake Shields and UFC star Andrei Arlovski.

Thus, she captioned, “Made me smile.. grateful for this life.”

The quartet markedly fought under the Elite XC banner in 2008. Additional glimpses in the clip gave fans an outlook on how life in 2008 appeared, as all of them enjoyed each other company.

Interestingly, Kimbo Slice later fought in UFC in the same year and subsequently exhibited his splendid skills in Bellator. Despite the short-lived career, the former bare-knuckle fighter continues to inspire the next generation of fighters.
