After Potential “$100,000” Loss, Israel Adesanya’s Teammate Reveals Dana White’s Personal Message Following Controversial Loss

The fallout from UFC Vegas 74 was greater than anticipated for Kai Kara-France. The former UFC interim flyweight title challenger suffered a controversial split decision loss this past Saturday. He faced Amir Albazi in a five-round fight that went the distance. At the end of the night, the judges deemed fit to award Albazi the decision won, leaving Kara-France and a lot of the MMA world protesting.

Now, the 30-year-old has revealed how costly that loss is proving to be. Furthermore, he revealed the details of a conversation with UFC President Dana White. According to Kara-France, the UFC head honcho also had strong feelings about the scorecards.

Kara-France appeared on a recent session of ‘The MMA Hour’ featuring Ariel Helwani. The pair had also met prior to the fight for another conversation. With the loss weighing on Kara-Frances’ mind, Helwani asked if the flyweight star had any solution for the judging issues. He also asked the Kiwi if had any conversations with Dana White following the loss.

Kai Kara-France reveals conversation with Dana White

Responding to Helwani’s query on ‘The MMA Hour’ Kara-France said, “Yeah, I did message him actually. I just said ‘How did you score it? I thought I won.'”

He continued, “He voice messaged me. He said, ‘I thought whoever going into the fifth took that and that’s it. He said, ‘I thought you won the first round.’ So… He thought I won.”

‘Don’t Blink’ added, “I said, ‘Yeah, it’s frustrating. I thought I won.’ At least one round- the first round, the fourth and the fifth. He said, ‘Yeah, I know it’s frustrating.’

Further, Israel Adesanya’a City Kickboxing teammate revealed how his paycheck and position in the rankings suffered from the loss. Kara-France said, “That cost me a $100 thousand, that loss. It cost me my ranking, no.3 in the world… You’ve just got to think, what are these judges even looking at?”

After the latest rankings update, Albazi climbed from #7 to Kara-France’s #3 spot. This could put him in title contention considering his 5-0 UFC record. Meanwhile, the New Zealander has dropped two spots and is sitting at #5. He is also on a two-fight skid.
