Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov got their fame not just through their skills but also due to their rivalry. Both McGregor and Nurmagomedov did significant damage to each other. But in the end, Nurmagomedov Sr. took the first step toward forgiveness. Recently, @DovySimuMMA posted a video of an interview where Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov admitted to having forgiven his son’s rival. Furthermore, he also claimed to have invited McGregor to his home as a dear guest.

Fans show support to Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov for forgiving Conor McGregor

The tweet showed an interview where Khabib Nurmagomedov’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, revealed that he had forgiven Conor McGregor. He said, “Today I invited Conor to our home. Yes, I made this statement and invited him as a guest. He can visit Dagestan. Why not!”

Moving ahead, when the interviewer asked if he had really forgiven the fighter, he replied with a strong “yes”.

Moreover, he said, “It’s all in the past. We should not stop there. Life goes on. Our religion should show grace not only in words but also in deeds,” He further added, “If he comes, you will see that he will be our dear guest.”

Furthermore, the interviewer asked if that would be okay with ‘The Eagle’. Nurmagomedov Sr. said, “My Khabib, whenever I make a statement, he never stands against that. That is the rules of the game in our republic for centuries.”

The demise of the legend:

Sadly, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov passed away in 2020 due to Covid-19 complications. He initially assumed it was simply pneumonia, but later succumbed to a heart attack. Without a doubt, the news came as a shock for the world of mixed martial arts. Nurmagomedov Sr. was the one to mold his son into the champion he became. However, his input to the sport never went astray.

The Dagestani legend’s passing deeply saddened the UFC fighters. Dillon Danis, Marlon Moraes, and Jan Blachowicz were a few among many to give their condolences. Surprisingly, even Conor McGregor seemed to mourn him. In a now-deleted tweet, McGregor wrote, “The loss of a father, a coach, and a dedicated supporter of the sport. Condolences and rest in peace Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.”

Unquestionably, Khabib Nurmagomedov was the one who was hurt the most. However, he decided to continue his training and later became the coach who created champions, just like his father.
