Kevin Holland has built a reputation for taking short-notice fights. He’s already fought two times this year, and now, we might see him in action for the third time in 2023. Moreover, ‘Trailblazer’ recently dropped a video message to which fans have reacted on social media.

The 30-year-old welterweight fighter is currently on a 2-fight winning streak. He is carrying a lot of momentum, as recently he hinted at being the replacement opponent for Ian Garry at UFC 292. However, the Irishman already had his eyes set on another opponent – Neil Magny – who is now the official replacement for Geoff Neal. Magny will fight Garry on 20th August. Meanwhile, Holland has indicated that he is prepared to be a substitute fighter in another upcoming bout.

‘Trailblazer’ shared a video on his Instagram story and mentioned about being present in Las Vegas. He said, “A fresh message from a fresh place. See you in Vegas.” This message had fans believing that he might act as the replacement for Kelvin Gastelum in his fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov.

Rakhmonov and Gastelum were set to fight each other on the Mexican Independence Day card. However, the latter got injured during a training session and had to pull out of the fight. Consequently, fans are now starting to believe that Kevin Holland may take on the undefeated Rakhmonov in September. Let’s see what the fans had to say about this fight.

  • Not great but still a much better matchup than Gastelhum vs Rakhmonov
  • That’d be a fun little war

On the contrary, some fans believe that it is not a good idea for Kevin Holland. They’d rather prefer to see Rakhmonov take on the former champion, Kamaru Usman.

  • Really a bad idea for Holland, but I’ll never miss a fight anyway.
  • Whyyyyy, Usman vs Shavkat would be so much better than this.
