Jake Paul has been thrashed for choosing to fight 58-year-old Mike Tyson ever since the announcement came out. The focal point of criticism when it comes to ‘El Gallo’s boxing endeavor has been his choice of older and/or retired fighter opponents. However, former UFC champion Francis Ngannou believes that age might not be a factor for Tyson against Paul.

Francis Ngannou trained with Mike Tyson when putting up a moral-victory-earning performance against Tyson Fury, who barely defeated ‘The Predator’. So he’s definitely one of those people who can give fans an accurate estimation of ‘Iron’s capabilities. But when Jake Paul listened to what Ngannou had to say about the fight, he simply found it hilarious.

Francis Ngannou’s prediction for the Jake Paul fight is plain and simple: Mike Tyson wins by knockout, and he let Jake Paul know about it. Despite many fans and combat sports pundits getting concerned about ‘Iron’s health, the former UFC heavyweight champion is not ready to believe that a legend like Tyson is going to fall victim to a YouTuber-turned-boxer who isn’t too worried about that warning. “Francis [Ngannou] actually said that he thinks Mike’s gonna knock me out, which is funny,” Jake Paul told ‘TMZ’.

However, it seems like the 27-year-old may have heard the murmurs surrounding the capabilities of Mike Tyson. Joe Rogan even went on to point out the power ‘Iron’ has in his punches, which has been the biggest highlight of his legendary career. “But I do have to be careful in the early rounds because Mike has that crazy, crazy punching power,” Jake Paul further stated. But guess what? Paul claims to be ready for the war he’s invited to on November 15.

Did Jake Paul shrug off Francis Ngannou’s warning about Mike Tyson?

Although he found Francis Ngannou’s warning hilarious, Jake Paul hasn’t shown any complacency in his training or his thoughts about the outcome of the fight against Mike Tyson. He still believes that the fight is going to end up with a knockout win for him, despite the dangers he might encounter during the fight against the youngest heavyweight champion in history.

“One hundred percent [he’ll knock out Tyson], man. A pro-fight means war, and I don’t take it lightly. You can get seriously hurt or end up injured in the war, so if you’re not in there to go to war, then you should just get out,” Jake Paul added. ‘El Gallo’ may not be wrong about his chances against Mike Tyson because oddsmakers have him listed as the favorite. Another boost for the YouTuber-turned-boxer came from one of Tyson’s major rivals, Evander Holyfield, who was impressed with his abilities when they trained together in the past. He claims Paul does have a slight chance.

“He [Jake Paul] came to the gym. He acted as a good student… He can really fight,” Holyfield told ‘Fight Hub TV’. “If he stays close to Mike, then his chance of winning is gonna be great, but if he tries to stay back from Mike, he’s gonna get caught.” Do you agree with the legend’s assessment?
