UFC heavyweight contender Ciryl Gane is set to make his return to the Octagon this weekend. The French fighter will face Alexander Volkov in an intriguing contest in the main event of a UFC Fight Night card.
‘Bon Gamin’ boasts a perfect professional record of 8-0. He has already managed to get some big names on the list of his victims in the Octagon. Former champion Junior Dos Santos, top contenders Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Tanner Bosser, and more have fallen prey to the Frenchman. The fight against ‘Drago’ will be his sixth appearance inside the Octagon.

“We’ve been working on this “3.0” version of myself for quite some time now… Let’s get it out on Saturday and see what happens,” wrote Gane on Twitter in a recent post.
Gane is one of the most crafty strikers in the entire UFC heavyweight division. His control of range and distance is a thing of beauty. Also, there is a certain fluidity involved with everything the 31-year-old does during his fights. That makes him a must-watch for the UFC fanatics. He has certainly managed to win over the fans in a relatively short period of time.
He earned a lopsided decision against ‘Bigi Boy’ in his last fight. Gane managed to frustrate Rozenstruik throughout the contest with his excellent movement of getting in and out of the range of his opponent’s power.

Ciryl Gane vs Alexander Volkov: What to expect?
The 32-year-old Russian, Volkov, is a true veteran of the UFC’s heavyweight division. ‘Drago’ will enter the contest with two back-to-back finishes over the likes of Walt Harris and Alistair Overeem. Volkov is one of the tallest fighters in the division. So, it will be interesting to see how Gane manages to manipulate his distance against the seasoned striker.
However, with ‘Bon Gamin’ teasing something new, there might be an element of surprise in the store. However, with two strikers like them involved, fans can expect to see an entertaining battle play out when the Octagon door closes this weekend.
