Cris Cyborg To Defend Her Featherweight Belt on November 12 in Florida

Bellator President Scott Coker appeared at a recent episode of the MMA Hour show. While chatting with Ariel Helwani he announced a piece of big news. Bellator featherweight champion, Cris Cyborg is set to return to action at Bellator 271. She will defend her throne against Irish fighter Sinead Kavanagh.
Cyborg defended her title against Leslie Smith in her last fight at Bellator 259 in May. The Brazilian fighter will look to establish her legacy furthermore in her newfound home in Bellator MMA. A win against Kavanaugh will mark Cyborg’s fifth consecutive triumph since her UFC 232 loss against Amanda Nunes.

Cyborg joined Bellator after her UFC 240 win against Felicia Spencer. She has won all 3 of her fights in the promotion. What’s more impressive is the fact that the 36-year-old fighter has finished all of her last 3 opponents.

Cyborg is one of the pioneers of women’s MMA. She has been a pro since 2005 and has fought in organizations like Elite XC, Strikeforce, Invicta FC, Bellator, and obviously the UFC. Also, Cyborg has held championship belts almost everywhere she has competed in her career. An astounding professional record of 24-2-1 is a benchmark in its own merit.
Gina Carano, Holly Holm, Leslie Smit, and more are some of her most notable wins as a professional. The Brazilian star also holds a massive 20 finishes in her career. 19 T/KO and 1 submission win comprise those numbers for her.

No fighter has come close to being a match to Cyborg in Bellator. It will be interesting to see if Kavanagh can surprise her with an element of surprise from her arsenal. Otherwise, it will be another walk in the park for Cyborg.
