“Daddy Did It” – Kamaru Usman’s ‘NFL’ Brother Dedicates Record-Breaking TUF Win to Deceased Son at UFC Vegas 59

Another fight, another finish; that was the story of UFC Vegas 59. The second TUF finals saw Mohammad Usman land a timely left hook to knock out Zac Pauga. UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman’s brother Mohammad ‘The Ripper’ Usman won the TUF 30 heavyweight finale. ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ had also won the same prize to kick off his career in the promotion.

Official Result: Mohammed Usman wins by KO – left hook – Round 2 (0:36).

In a fight that saw different tides, both Usman and Pauga had their moments. Coming into the bout, these two already knew they were going to be a tough matchup for each other. During their time at TUF, these two realized they were highly likely to see each other in the finale as they stood out throughout the season. And on the main card at the Apex, Usman proved he was the better man.

After a relatively tough first round, the Nigerian heavyweight found his target and ended the bout in the second. In the post-fight interview with Michael Bisping, Usman dedicated the win to his deceased son.

The quick finish from the pound-for-pound king’s brother saw MMA Twitter rolling their fingers to praise the win.

The 33-year-old Fortis MMA standout knocked out the 34-year-old Elevation Fight Team representative and won the TUF season. UFC fans reacted to him winning TUF just like his brother.

After losing his PFL bout, Usman stacked two wins on the show to put himself in the finale. The Nigerian fighter handed the 34-year-old Pauga (5-1) his first MMA loss to get his hand to the TUF 30 trophy.

UFC President Dana White presented Usman with a trophy and a UFC contract. The pound-for-pound #1 fighter, Kamaru Usman, was inside the Octagon to celebrate his brother’s win with his family.

The win also earned heavyweight Usman a performance of the night bonus.
