Dana White and Saudi Confirm Major Plans for UFC as Turki Alalshikh Sets Up Important Meeting With Top Brass

UFC just concluded the much-awaited UFC 300, and it is not the end yet! There is another upcoming event in Saudi Arabia which is already gaining the attention of the fans. For those who do not know, this event is speculated to be Dana White’s secret strategy to grow the popularity of the UFC. The promotion is going to host the very first Saudi event in 2024 and White just gave an exciting breadcrumb for future shows to keep the fans hooked.

There was a recent post by Turki Alalshikh who is the Saudi advisor at the Royal Court. This X post hinted at his collaboration with the UFC head honcho. What is brewing?

The Saudi advisor posted a picture featuring him and the UFC president on his official X account with the caption, “A great man whom I respect, with exciting things coming in the future ahead! @danawhite.” White acknowledged the post and the meeting by putting it up on his Instagram story with the caption that read, “See you in a couple of weeks.”

For the unversed, Alalshikh has a lot of say in the Royal Court of Saudi and he is under the rank of the Minister along with being the current chairman of the General Entertainment Authority. The collaboration between the UFC CEO and the Chairman in the Royal Court is going to be a big deal! It is also reported that Alalshikh brought major sporting events into his country but prioritized boxing the most.

Even though Tyson Fury, Francis Ngannou, and Anthony Joshua previously competed in Saudi Arabia, the UFC could not be brought in because of some financial constraints. However, now there has been an announcement that Khamzat Chimaev vs Robert Whittaker will open the event in Saudi Arabia.

The CEO came out last month with the announcement that nothing was stopping the Saudi card after the higher administration of the country supposedly rejected it. Dana White also declared the same on his Instagram account through a video. He mentioned, “And the main event will be, former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker versus 13-0, undefeated, Khamzat Chimaev to see who will be the number 1 contender for the UFC middleweight championship.”

This fight is going to happen on June 22 and Chimaev, one of the biggest stars in UFC, is headlining it. On top of that, the two head honchos have promised more exciting things for the event as well! The winner of this fight will be just a few steps away from a title shot.
