Dana White declared during the week of Noche UFC,My goal with this thing is to be nominated for an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Grammy. So yes, there will be a documentary.” His declaration might have sounded like an exaggeration before the event, but UFC 306 delivered what it promised. The event cost more than $20 million, and ended up becoming the highest grossing UFC PPV in terms of ticket sales.

UFC 306 took place at The Sphere in Las Vegas, which is surrounded by 1.2 million puck-sized LEDs on its exterior. The event was so huge that it featured six short films and was produced by Antigravity Academy and Nexus Studios. It was directed by Oscar-nominated director Carlos López Estrada, and celebrated Mexico’s history, and the nation’s contribution to combat sports.

Dana White’s plan with the films and his foreshadowing of the success came true finally—UFC Noche won two 2025 Sports Emmy Awards, outshining Super Bowl and NHL among other nominations. After winning a Sports Emmy in 2019, these are the latest accolades added to the ever-growing sport, which stands as a testament to what a behemoth the promotion has become.

The UFC head honcho subtly broke his silence and boasted the win of one of his greatest UFC events, posting the achievement on Instagram. He reshared a post by a fan on his Instagram story that was captioned: “Congrats to @danawhite and his entire production team as Noche UFC wins two sports Emmy awards @nocheufc.”

UFC 306 won awards for Outstanding Studio or Production Design/Art Direction and Outstanding Graphic DesignSpecialty. The six-episode series was a tribute to the past, present, and future of UFC and a tribute to Mexico since the event was during Mexican Independence Day.

UFC 320 seems to be in trouble with the venue and date

The UFC boss man takes the Mexican Independence Day very seriously since he dedicates one PPV event to the rich tradition of the combat sports in this country. The 55-year-old surpassed most sports promotions when he hosted Noche UFC 306 at The Sphere, and now it has won two Sports Emmy awards. But can he surpass his record for the next big UFC Mexico event?

UFC 320 seems to be in trouble because some things did not go according to White’s plan. White had planned to bring UFC 320 to Guadalajara at the newly opened Arena Guadalajara, but the venue officials reported that the opening would be delayed. As a result, several planned events had to be scrapped, from May all the way to September.

All this really puts White in a tough situation. The other venue, which is Arena CDMX, is also booked for 13th September as Mexican music star Ramón Ayala will be conducting his farewell tour there.

What do you think the bossman will do? Will he plan something grand again or was UFC 306 a one-and-done? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
