UFC 306 was an extravagant affair with Dana White spending $20 million on the show and bringing in the best Hollywood directors to curate short films about Mexico’s fighting heritage. The event celebrating Mexico’s Independence Day took place at The Sphere in Las Vegas and exceeded expectations. The six films on ended up winning the UFC two Emmy awards! So for this year’s Mexico’s Independence Day celebrations, the pressure is at an all-time high. Will Dana White be able to surpass what he did at UFC 306?
Well, the business mogul and UFC CEO has faced many troubles with last-minute fight cancellations and venue changes before. This time, however, the problem isn’t internal but external. His collaboration with Turki Alalsheikh for a boxing promotion under the TKO banner had many fans surprised. The Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford super fight was the debut event for the launch of this new promotion. However, tides turned on White as the GEA Chairman announced that White and TKO were out of the agreement, and it was Sela for Riyadh Season, who would exclusively promote that fight.
Now the problem is that this boxing mega fight is scheduled to take place on the 13th of September. This clashes directly with his planned date for UFC 320. The bossman is bringing UFC 320 to Guadalajara at the new Arena Guadalajara, but the venue officials recently reported that there will be a delay in its opening.
