Till now UFC 315 title fight between Jack Della Maddalena and Belal Muhammad is scheduled as planned but we can never be too ready for any last-minute mishaps. Dana White & Co. are no strangers to short-notice withdrawals and UFC 315 itself has already suffered one setback already. As reported by various outlets, UFC lightweight Joel Alvarez has withdrawn from his scheduled matchup with Benoit Saint Denis.

On one hand, Ian Machado Garry is vying to be the backup for the main event after his blockbuster win against Carlos Prates. On the otherGod of Waris without a contender for now. However, there is a certain lightweight fighter who is ready to show his prowess and fight this short-notice predicament.

It’s none other thanRebeastiaka Mateusz Rębecki who stands at 20-2-0 with 4-1 in UFC. He recently uploaded a non-official poster of himself and Saint-Denis while writing, “@benoitst_denis I’m ready to step in, I’m in Miami in Att on weigh let’s go @malkikawa @abrahamkawa @orin_luca let’s do this UFC315 #ReadyToFight #ShortNotice.”

He proved himself again against Myktybek Orolbai at UFC 308 after losing to Diego Ferreira before that. And what a fight it was—the duo perhaps produced a bout that would go down in UFC history.

They were completely covered in blood after the fight ended and they received a standing ovation for their performance inside the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. While exchanging brutal blows with the Polish brawler, Orolbai received a powerful shot, resulting in a swollen eye. The doctor had to check on Orolbai to see if he could still fight, and the Kyrgyzstan fighter was as ready as could be, even with one eye closed due to swelling.

The duo pushed each other to the farthest limits and ultimately Rebecki one a split-decision verdict in a pretty difficult fight. Mauricio Ruffy decides to request Dana White for a short-notice fight at UFC 315

As Alvarez is busy nursing an undisclosed injury, rising star Mauricio Ruffy took the opportunity to post his request on X. Jumping on the opportunity, he wrote, Hey, UFC! How about a Fight Night main event against Saint-Denis?”

This is not the first time that Ruffy has called out Saint Denis because, in 2024, he did the same at Madison Square Garden after defeating James Llontop at UFC 309. Speaking during the post-fight press conference, he lit the spark by stating, I think it will be an excellent fight, and it’s not even coming from me. Many people online and on social media would like that fight to happen. I think it will be a great fight. I hope he takes it.”

The #13 lightweight star was looking for redemption after losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 299 and Renato Moicano at UFC Fight Night 243.
