The rise of a new champion in the Women’s MMA? Molly McCann has done it by defeating Diana Belbita at the UFC Vegas 85. The ‘Meatball’ came to the octagon with the intent to have a war and bloody hell she delivered it. With a round 1 submission, McCann showcased her potential to become the champion of the division. However, the question arises: is she ready to take on the heavyweights?
McCann was coming to fight Belbita without a win in 18 months, however, there were no rush movements in her fight and seems like ‘Meatball’ is finally eyeing the ‘115’ lbs gold.

There’s a saying “Amidst the storms of life, find solace in the tranquil waters of your own serenity” and it fits perfectly in the case of McCann. Despite her back-to-back losses against Julija Stoliarenko and Erin Blanchfield, McCann did not lose her composure in her fight against Diana Belbita.
The English fighter showcased tremendous mettle in her fight at UFC Vegas 85. ‘Meatball’ has one thing on her mind and that is Alexa Grasso‘s title. While having a post-fight interview with Daniel Cormier, McCann said “Today I forgive myself and I can move forward. Say less do more, say less do more.”

McCann secured a strong double-leg takedown, ending up in full ͏mount͏ as the first round ͏concluded. Whi͏le raining͏ heavy elbows in the ͏last 10 second͏s,͏ it seemed ͏Belbit͏a might survive͏. ͏However, McCann switched͏ tactics, swiftly locking in an ͏armbar.͏ With just one͏ second le͏ft, Belbita tapped out, giving McCann the win.
