The talks of Jon Jones returning to the Octagon and making his debut in the heavyweight division have taken over the world. ‘Bones’ is set to land against Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 285. Without a doubt, many fans and professionals consider Jones to be one of the best fighters in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The UFC president, Dana White, also shared a similar opinion during his conversation with Jim Rome, from the CBS Sports Network.

The UFC boss declared that ‘Bones’ was the best pound-for-pound fighter. However, White seemed upset about the single defeat in Jones’ impressive record in the UFC. White went ahead and justified the loss by stating the weakness of the NSAC at that particular time.

Dana White impressed with Jon Jones

Recently, the number one Novelty Recording Artist of all time, Jed I. Goodman, took to Twitter and shared a video of an on-call conversation between the UFC president and Jim Rome. With White on the call, it was seemingly natural for Rome to enquire about his thoughts on the best fighter in the UFC.

Surprisingly, White replied that it was Jones who he thought was the best. He said, “It would have to be Jon Jones.” However, the UFC boss was unhappy with Jones’ record. He talked about the one loss Jones faced at the hands of Matt Hamill, back in 2009. Although the record still looked impressive, White wasn’t satisfied and blamed NSAC and the referee for Jones’ loss.

White said, “It kills me that that one is on his record. 26-1. You have to understand. For the people who don’t know, this was during a time when the Nevada State Athletic Commission was very weak. And there was a referee in there that stopped the fight and called Jones the loser in that fight. A fight he was dominating and should have been finished. Instead of disqualifying Jones, they should have stopped the fight. And Jones right now really should be 27-0.”

Ciryl Gane neutralized Jones’ most lethal move

‘Bones’ is undeniably infamous for his eye pokes. The former light heavyweight champion has stayed under public scrutiny for his illegal tactics. However, Gane has seemingly found a way to get out of the fighter’s move and apparently claimed that it wouldn’t work on him.

In a video released on Twitter, ‘Bon Gamin’ was training with a reflex ball. He was dodging every single hit with style. Apparently, it was in order to avoid his next opponent’s lethal eye pokes. Nevertheless, he seemed ready to take on Jones in the Octagon.
